Join Create Your Year

Since I’ve been out of the loop craft-blog wise, I’m not sure what exactly is going on in terms of monthly or weekly (or heck, even daily!) craft projects like Project Spectrum and such.

Check out Create Your Year. I only recently “met” Aimee, but I can’t wait for this to start! I love craft challenges and look foward to creating!

“Create your Year” is a year long creative meme for bloggers. Each month will have a theme to inspire your creativity. You can express the theme using any medium that you like, if it gets your creative juices going, do it! You may also do as many projects as you would like, from one on up, as long as you do at least one for the month. The purpose behind the project is to live a creative year and share it with others. You may choose to participate for the whole year, or just a month, or anywhere in between.

Yay! Look for the first theme next week!

Happy Holidays!

I feel like the month of December just flew by me. I was very busy but sheesh, I feel like I’ve missed out on so much craft wise! I haven’t even read very many craft blogs lately. Well my hubby called earlier to say he isn’t going to make it home until the wee hours of the morning. So I decided I am going to clean my office tonight. It needs it anyway and I NEED to be able to do crafts in here again. We’ve been scattered all throughout the house up until now.

I hope your Christmas was wonderful! Ours was very nice and the kids had a great time. We don’t have any plans for New Years Eve - DH has to work - though we may light fireworks in the front. It was cold today and if it is that cold on Sunday, we may just stay in and watch movies!

I will be back with pictures of the cookies I finally got around to baking!

Carol for a Cause

A quick break in submitting the last few assignments I owe to share this!

My friend Marie Ynami put together Carol for a Cause - a very unique Christmas Fundraiser inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas. She did this last year too but I didn’t participate. This year the fundraiser is from December 13-25 and all proceeds will be donated to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

To listen to the carols and donate please visit Carol for a Cause.

Once your donation is received, you will be redirected to a page where you can access all of the carols - sung by WAHMs and sometimes their kids too. As a thank you Marie has included resources and books such as:

- Traditional Christmas Carols
- Holiday Stress Ebook
- Creating a Magical Family Christmas
and some business resource ebooks too

Check out Carol for a Cause to hear my daughter and I singing along with Kenny Chesney. :D

Balance

I am on a quest!

Things I have been doing lately

  • laundry (I think it’s been multiplying when I’m not looking, I seriously haven’t had this much to do in….a very long time!)
  • cleaning the tree mess because the kids keep playing with it!
  • shopping - actually I haven’t for about a week
  • avoiding homework - LOL

Yep, that says avoiding *sigh*

I’m just not into my class right now. It’s easy enough, it’s Desktop Publishing. Hello, I know what to do! I’m just not into class interaction I suppose. I don’t think I am going to take another class next semester. My final is next week (or the week after) and I know I have a little while to think about my next class.

My sewing machine still hasn’t been repaired - there is only one repair place I have been able to find and I just never go that direction. I know I need to because I am borrowing my neighbors machine just way too often. LOL :P

I am almost done with my Christmas shopping! I am done with the kids actually and just need to finalize my family gifts for my brothers and their kids. I’ll take pictures of that because it is SO cute!

I am going to get a haircut this week and somehow stage our Christmas picture. I need to figure out how to delay a picture on my camera. My idea is us sitting on barstools/standing in front of our tree and then getting them printed at Walgreens or something. I need to write our letter too. I used to write a family letter when I still lived with my Mom and the past two years were the first two that I hadn’t since we started that. I’m excited for the letter, the pictures, the getting my cards out and ready. Would you believe I already received two Christmas cards? From my ever so prepared Aunt. LOL Well one from her and one from her granddaughter, my niece (in my family, my cousins kids call me Auntie).

I hope everyone in the crafty world is doing great! I am finally getting back to being crafty, but of course when that happens my camera is lost or the battery is dead. One of these days I will pay closer attention to that! It’s charging right now though. :)
