Another Birthday Card

Yesterday I shared the pink Birthday Card that I sent to be swapped with my team at the demo meeting. I also do a monthly card swap with a few friends back in WA State. We pick a monthly theme and then each make cards that go along with that. I am late with two cards (Nov & Dec) though. To make up for the lateness, I am also mailing my February card early! So anyway, yesterday I sent them each four cards. Here is one ~

All images, paper, stamps, ink and punch Copyright Stampin’ Up. I used Almost Amethyst, Blush Blossom, Apricot Appeal and Whisper White paper; Happy Everything stamp set; Flower punch and Blush Blossom ink. The eyelet came from a pack I bought at Target.

Sidenote about Target: You are stopping by the dollar section when you go right? I love that spot! And of course it is placed perfectly, at the front of the store where you can’t miss it. I think it was right before Christmas that they had the section stocked with scrapbooking/stamping/card making supplies. I grabbed some stickers and eyelets and also grabbed rhinestones that were in their stationary/scrapbooking section that were on clearance.

I am still loving this card design! I liked it so much that I made it my group swap birthday card. I picked paper color and just went with it. The stamp set come with other words - days, life, everything to name a few - and I want to experiment with different words with this design. And probably different embellishments too - flowers won’t work for everything. I need to make a birthday card for my Aunt’s birthday next month so I think her card will be the first I’ll experiment with.

Demo Group Swap Cards

I joined Stampin’ Up a couple of months ago – strictly as a hobby demo. That means I don’t hold parties, actively recruit anyone and just buy for myself. Yes, I am that addicted. LOL

This is the first month that I am making my own swap cards for my team demo meeting. My team is actually back in WA State, I signed up with one of my very good friends there. It is all her fault I love this! She made a set of cards for me for a previous demo meeting so I was a little nervous to make my own.

All images, paper, stamps, ink, eyelet and punch Copyright Stampin’ Up. I used Pretty In Pink, Perfect Plum, Sage Shadow and Whisper White paper, Happy Everything stamp set, Perfect Plum ink, Soft Subtles eyelets and Flower Punch.

I made a pink Happy Birthday card! The design is all my own too. :) The only thing I was thinking was I wanted a strip or I wanted half of the card to be a different color. I really like how this turned out – simple and pretty. I can’t wait to see what cards I get back!

Too busy to post!

Oh man, tackle it Tuesday has left me organizing up a storm! At first I just wanted a clean floor - but then I forgot that when I start organizing, I’d rather do an entire room then a stack of paper. So that’s what I’ve been working on.

I took a picture last night before going to bed to show the progress I made yesterday. But my camera battery died and I didn’t get a picture today. I’ll get one tomorrow once I am all the way done with the floor. I’m so excited - I’ve been putting this off for WAY too long and am just thrilled that I’m almost done. You have no idea!

First Tuesday Meme

Okay I think the idea is to post something that you have already tackled. But since this is my first time doing this, I’m going to post something I plan on tackling today! My craft room slash office floor.

(Click on the picture to go to flickr and my notes!)

Embarrassingly enough, this has been this way for the past few days. Scratch that, it looks better then it did this weekend. Yes, I have a lot to get done. I’ve never posted a messy room picture before so I’m going to just do it and get it over with! I will be back later tonight to post my updated picture, done all the way or not!

Tagged: Six Things

Is it wierd to want to do one of things tagged things? Hahahaha Helen over at Knitting In The Shadows tagged me a while ago and I finally have a chance to answer!

“THE RULES:Each player of this game starts with the ‘6 weird things about you.’ People who get tagged need to write a blog post of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”

1. I never believed in pregnancy cravings until I was pregnant with my son. Then I HAD to have peanut butter cups. It was so bad that I carried around a bag of minis in my purse with me. I never ate the whole bag in one sitting, I just had to have one. My husband thought I was nuts. I still really like peanut butter cups but I don’t carry the bag around anymore.

2. I think I’m obsessive, compulsive too. Not to the point of seeking out help or medication, I just like things just so…or else. LOL

3. I don’t eat sandwiches with condiments. Like mayo, mustard, oils, etc. My husband thinks I’m strange for not doing so, but the kids both like them so he quit bugging me about it.

4. I eat bologna on crackers, the square saltines to be exact. I cut a bologna into fourths and put one on a square. Then I nibble around the edges until it fits the cracker. *Then* it’s okay to eat it. I’ve done it since I was a kid and who knows why I started. Course, I don’t eat as much bologna anymore, it doesn’t taste as good anywhere but Grandma’s house.

5. When I get into a hobby - I get into that hobby! I attempted scrapbooking once - I ended up with so much scrapping supplies you would have thought I invested in a company. I ended up giving most of it to a friend of mine and only finished about 10 pages. I just can’t cut a picture! Pictures belong in order in a photo album (yeah this could probably be five and six LOL).

6. I stock up on school supplies every year. I always have but the past few years I don’t really have an excuse as my kids have been too young to go to school. I buy at least 20 packages of crayons because they are only a quarter each! Of course this year my daughter is in school and you have no idea the joy I felt when we got to buy school supplies with a purpose! This goes with my love of office supplies - which isn’t really wierd, but just a little odd.

That’s it! This has taken me forever to get up so I’m sorry Helen! And I think it’s been around the web and back again so you are tagged if you haven’t done it yet!

Memes

I honestly didn’t realize there are so many memes out there - one for each day of the week I’m sure! This self portrait Sunday was just started, here is Thursday Thirteen, and I know about Wordless Wednesday. I’ve never participated in any of them but then I found Tackle It Tuesday and woo hoo that is right up my alley! LOL

So I’m about to post my first Tackle it Tuesday meme, and I want to do the self portrait Sunday too. I always forget about other days, but maybe if I write them down I’ll remember.

I’m going to post the Tackel It Tuesday’s as Craft Challenges - it will be a challenge to get my craft stuff organized! It seems no matter how long I work on it, it just doesn’t get done. Well today that ends!

Happy De-Lurking Week

I am bad about not commenting - I have lots of excuses too: I read blogs via a Firefox plug in (Sage - it’s awesome!) and depending on that blogs settings, I can read the entire post without actually going to the blog, just accessing the feed. I have to register to comment which if I don’t have a lot of time that day and I’m just itching to read new crafty stuff, I don’t do it. Or (this is a huge one for me!) if there are a bunch of comments (like 40 or more) I rarely comment because…well I don’t know why.

So happy de-lurking week! I’ve been off my crafty-game lately but I’m almost done completely organizing my craft stuff. (Wow, the sheer amount of stuff I have is amazing…. - wait until you see the pictures!) We have cards to make though so there will be that soon.

I look foward to your comments and of course, visiting your blog.

Find out more about de-lurking week here.
