One More Reason

Check out this list of upcoming craft fairs over at IndieCraftShows.com… I count FIVE in Washington! Just one more reason to get back to the west coast, there is nothing on that calendar for South Carolina. There are a couple for North Carolina though, I’m going to have to see if my college roommate is busy or out of town those weekends, I’m pretty sure she lives close to at least one of the fairs.

And check out MYMY for a list of shows as well.

Latest Kids Project

A couple of weeks ago we stopped by the craft store and grabbed a couple of Klutz kits. I waver between thinking they are a great deal because they have everything you will need to complete the project and thinking they are expensive. And yes, that’s the coupon loving, clearance shopping part of me talking!

Anyway, we bought the potholder kit and finally opened it up. Alice loves it!

Starting out….

Five rows of weaving and she’s got it!

And this one is done.

She loves it so much she wanted to do more. There is a project in the book that had you make two potholders and then stitch them together to make a purse.

Moving right along…

And in other kid accomplishments - Alice learned how to tie her shoes by herself! This was the first day she did it.

Stickers

I’m not sure what I was thinking this week but I dusted off my letter from santa website and took a look. I don’t need to do anything drastic to it but I would like to have a better plan going into the season this year. I have a few ideas and need to write them down so I don’t forget! Of course most of my ideas are about supply and keeping things in stock. I did a decent job of that this past year but need to work on it. I’m debating buying custom stickers this time around. There are a few things that are handwritten and I’ll keep it that way, but to add a sticker on the back or to add in or even for advertising purpose, that would save me some time in a few different areas.

Check out that site if you are looking for custom stickers. Even if you don’t have a design, they will design one for you free of charge! That is a sweet deal, I’ve had custom graphics created for me and in order for it to be print ready it is a lot of money. This would be a great site for those who make their own candles or bath products for sale, there are various sizes of stickers available.

Happy Cards

Happy Days card

Here are a few more cards made with the Happy Everything stamp set by SU. I really like this set! And I found a few more things to add to the cards - flowers and rhinestone stickers. We gave one of the Happy Birthday cards to a little girl in the kids’ gymnastics class.

Happy Birthday Card

I made these a while back but we are getting out the supplies to make a few more cards and I found these pictures! I forgot to post them here and just wanted to share. :)

My first Top Design

I DVR’ed Bravo’s Top Design the other night when it was on. I didn’t realize it was so far into the show! I watched the ‘Garage Band’ episode. I did set up the DVR so I won’t miss anymore!

I love this show! I’ve never watch any of the other ‘Top’ shows on Bravo, or even Project Runway. I’m just not into design the way I thought the shows were showing it. I mean I try to sew and create and such, but really not on those levels.

But I love decorating! Okay maybe you wouldn’t be able to tell that based on what my house looks like now (we need to paint!) but I love browsing for

So Ryan left this time.He didn’t seem that he fit in. Was he too creative? I’m sure I can catch the other episodes in rerun. I can’t wait to see what is next.

Why I blog (Tag)

My friend Marie over at MomSoapBox tagged me.

“Why do you blog”

Well I blog for a lot of reasons! I actually have a handful of blogs that I maintain, but of course this one is dedicated to all my crafty stuff.

~ I blog so I can share my crafty ideas, projects, problem, etc. I love reading about other peoples ideas and crafts and hope others enjoy mine.
~ I get to keep track of something I want to follow up on - either a solution to something or a fun project. Blogs weren’t always the bloggy-journals they are today you know, they were web-logs.
~ Blogging is a quick (most of the time!), easy way for me to get my thoughts out of my head. I’ve always had a journal and this is just an extension of that.
~ It’s fun! Blogging is just a great way to meet more people and connect with those who have the same interests that you do. Often the smallest of things can help make a connection with someone.

I tag a couple of crafty girls who so kindly regularly stop by and a couple who I regularly read. Just a couple because wow my blog list is way too long these days. :D

And if’ you’ve already done this one, feel free to leave me a laugh in the comments. :)

Shopping Soon?

There are days when I get in the mood to go shopping. Yesterday was one of them. I called up a friend to ask if she wanted to go to the mall. We ended up not going because the store I wanted to go to, doesn’t even exist anywhere near us! We had a laugh over me not realizing it. And then I emailed a friend with that store nearby.

Of course being online you can always find a great shopping blog. Browsing shopping blogs can be a lot of fun - they usually have their own ratings system in place and the reviews are awesome. I love reading what others think about a product, sometimes I am amazed that they like it but other times they bring up something I would not have thought about.

I love that products for puppies are featured on the blog. If I had a dog, she (or maybe he I suppose) would be rocking some very cute glasses and this collar. Have fun reading the news and reviews on The Super Shopper blog.
