Cell Phones & Cases
I wish I knew where to go to read up on cell phones that have qwerty keypads and internet access (obviously! LOL) without having to know what the model of the phone is. My Mom has a Treo but she isn’t in love with it. I don’t want a blackberry or a sidekick. All the rest? I have no idea what they are!
I just want a phone that I can access my google calendar on. I don’t care about listening to music (I have an iPod) or texting people or watching tv or whatever else the cool new phones are able to do these days. I’m less against those features then I used to be though.
Of course, I suppose it does narrow down my choices since I am with Verizon (shared family plan with Mom - aren’t Moms great?). I was browsing Wirefly and playing with various features they have on the site - you can pick your phone based on carrier or phone model there. They also have a spot for you to compare your current bill to offers on the website. I plugged numbers in but because of the shared plan, the results didn’t make sense to me.
Of course if I did want a blackberry, one of the featured deals at Wirefly is a blackberry pearl for free with a new service contract. I’m just impressed that in their list of cell phones is the same phone I’ve had for the past few years. It’s a camera phone but it isn’t offered in the store anymore - or at least not in my local Verizon store. Getting a cell phone for free is always nice and even better when you get a cool one then just whatever close to the bottom of the barrel they happen to be passing out. Wirefly even has RAZR phones for free.
Once I get whatever new phone, I am SO making a case for it. I found this one made with material and ribbon (there is even a matching lipstick case) and here is one made with duct tape. One last cell phone case that you can sew. Who needs fake diamonds stuck to a phone when you can have an awesome case you make yourself.
