Make an Infinity Scarf

infinity scarf

I used quilting cotton to make an infinity scarf and it came together very quickly. You don’t even need two separate fabrics if you don’t want to use separate ones. I also have some knit fabric to use so I can make a few scarves, but I have a hard time with knit. I need to find a tutorial or two so I can figure out what I am doing wrong. Click over to see how to make your own scarf, you can make one in just a couple of hours.

CraftSanity Magazine Sale

You don’t want to miss this – Jennifer over at Craft Sanity is having a sale on the print and PDF versions of the CraftSanity Magazine. I love this, I didn’t realize that I needed a couple of the editions so I bought them. Jennifer’s magazine is beautiful, full of really great stories and interviews, and of course a wide range of patterns. This is a great sale, stop by today!

Leather Card Holder Tutorials

I really love the phone cases that we have found here* because they have a small slim wallet area to hold a few things. Not a lot fits in the space, but for my kids it’s enough for their bus and lunch cards. That is great for me because despite knowing where their phones are or knowing the newest app everyone is knowing, keeping track of the lunch cards isn’t a high priority. And considering they can punch in a number or swipe the card, it almost is okay if they don’t have it. Anyway, check out this leather card holder tutorial that Ali over at a²(w) wrote. My favorite is the last one, a folded card holder with elastic. My Dad has a some leather, I’m going to have to get him to send me some so I can try making a few of these!

If you are interested in sewing with leather, check out this Craftsy class Making Leather Bags.

*These phone cases w/ a little pocket are of course probably in the US too. I just never wanted one. They were the only kind available for the phones the kids got so that’s how I found out about them.

Scrappy Flying Geese

Ohhh this is such a good idea! I love being able to use up scraps (I started over with my scraps after I gave away an entire luggage full of scraps to the parent group at school) and flying geese are so fun to work with. Look at this tutorial that Heather over at House A La Mode has created for how you can make scrappy flying geese blocks. I have some paper already cut into squares so I am going to sew a few together and see what I can come up with! This is a great scrap project.

Use your flying geese to make one of these flying geese quilts from Craftsy.

Or this beautiful geese bag! I love the flying geese going in opposite directions.
